Life consists of a number of situations and experiences, that to a child can often be difficult to understand, and therefore scary and unpleasant unless someone explains to the child what is going on. Whilst children are amazingly logic and bright, it is important to be able to break down situations and so that the enormity of them becomes a more manageable and enjoyable experience for the child.
This is what I am doing in my books about Oliver and his little sister Emma.
My hope is that parents and other adults will read my books with the child and have a chat about the difficult subjects addressed in the books.
The way I have written the books they can be read from an early age til about seven year old. The younger children will listen to the words and look at the pictures, whereas the older children will understand and discuss the more complex emotional processes of the story.
Bye, bye. See you again soon!
